Character Information Name: Irina 'Reena' Kessler Age: 21 Fandom: Star Trek (2009) Alignment: Federation... well her loyalty is to the ship but Good Brief History: Raised in a tiny town in Virginia with "more crops than people," Irina Margaret Kessler is the youngest child of a chef and a botanist. The only girl and youngest of three siblings, the Kessler family is of Irish and Russian descent, and very, very large. At the age of 12, Irina - called Reena or Ree by practically everyone - and her family relocated from their grandparents former-plantation home to San Francisco, where they spend the rest of their formative years.
After graduating from high school, Reena made the decision to attend Starfleet Academy where she became a linguist, fluent in 8 different languages and upwards of six variants. Upon graduation, Reena was assigned to the USS Enterprise to be part of their communications department, first as an ensign - later promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade (JG).
Personality: Reena is, above all else spunky. She is as stubborn as the day is long, and won't hesitate to shoot you a glare if you are getting on her nerves. She is reliable and very good at her job, having an ear for language and translation. She's the youngest, and has had to grow up with three older brothers - and she's tough. She had the maturity of someone quite a bit older than herself, but it is that insite that makes her who she is.
Irina is very close with her family - especially her brothers - often referring to them as a 'Wolf pack'. The Kessler children were all born within a twelve year span of one another. With her brother Peter being the oldest, followed by Mikhale (or Mike/Mikey), Douglas (or Doug) and finally Irina. She was also friends with Pavel Chekov during their time at the Academy - before he went and graduated early.
Appearance: The first thing that would come to mind when thinking about Irina is probably her red hair. The color tends to stand out - or blend in if you're talking about it in reference to her uniform. Has green eyes and is of average height at 5 feet, 6 inches. She generally carries a PADD with her at all times, just in case something should come up. She prefers relatively low heels to high ones, even though they do make her taller - she's just always afraid that she'll fall over in them.
